  • Do you hold a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university?
  • Are you working full-time in the ministry?
  • Do you want to further your education and enhance your skills without taking months away from the office?
  • Would you like to sit under the mentorship of highly skilled scholars with an international perspective on ministry and leadership?
  • Are you looking for theological education from a Pentecostal world-view?
  • Would you enjoy learning in a multi-cultural, multi-racial, multi-denominational classroom?

If so, this programme may be for you! For a relatively short commitment of time – five weeks per year (2½ weeks in June, 2½ weeks in November/December) – you can pursue a fully accredited Master of Arts degree through the Centre for Postgraduate Studies at CTS. All sessions take place at the Seminary in Cape Town, South Africa.

We offer two concentrations within the Ministerial Studies degree programme: a Leadership concentration and an Education concentration. The Education concentration is offered in conjunction with our newly established Initiative for Classroom Excellence (affectionately known as “Hard ICE”). Each degree programme will require approximately three years to complete.

Here is what some of our alumni have to say about their time at Cape Theological Seminary:

CTS has a very exciting programme suitable to prepare one for the ministry within the African Context. I have benefited a lot from this programme and I would recommend it for everyone who wishes to do theological training at a higher level. I have enjoyed being with the people, the programme is well tailored for our time, and the passion is what we really need.

Studying through CTS has been the best investment I have made into my spiritual, ministry, and leadership development. I cannot over emphasize how much the MA programme has meant to me as I found it extremely relevant to my ministry, the material was informative and challenging and the lecturers were out of the top draw. The lecturers were dynamic in that they were experts in their fields, taught their topics in a practical and understandable way and were down to earth and available to assist in learning and development. In fact all the staff at CTS are really friendly, helpful and will do almost anything to make your studies as easy as possible. I would recommend this course to anyone who wants to advance not only in their studies but also in their personal, leadership and ministry development.
